Luke 21: 11-16
11 Today in the town of David a
Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This
will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a
manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the
heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest
heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and
gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and
see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found
Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.
Friends,
Jesus became poor so that we may be rich.
He was
born in a manger, a dirty place, a poor place for us to be rich.
The
manger can also represents sin, sin is dirty and Jesus showed us the day he was
born that he surely took our iniquities.
Jesus is
God, came in a human form, he could’ve chosen to be born in a palace.
He showed
us that he came to serve us, not the other way around, he humble himself to
become poor, even unto death.
When the
shepherds received the prophecy from the angels that baby Jesus is born, they quickly
went to look for him, to see for themselves.
When we receive
a prophecy from God, we must not sit on the prophecy, let’s go and make it
happen.
When God
says you’ll find a job, go apply for that job or a promotion, work even harder
at work.
I’m not
saying be God and fulfil your prophecy, that will be a disaster, but give God a
hand and He’ll lift you up.
We all
know that faith without works it’s nothing.
When
Jesus was born, a group of Angels came down just to praise God.
Let’s
praise God when we are in good times or bad times.
Let’s
praise God for every good thing He do in our lives.
He gives
us peace and favour.
Let’s
pray that His peace and favour to rest in us all the time.
